In battles, you'll sometimes find items that make your staff five times bigger. Prioritise picking them up immediately; you'll then become a true "destruction machine," sweeping everything in your path.
Each character comes with their own unique "stick": the Silver Knight with a glittering staff and the Magical Girl with a star-shaped wand. If you're stuck, try switching to a different character; maybe a new stick-wielding style will suit you.
