Observe the rhythm of the vehicles before jumping

• Red cars move quickly but sparsely, making it easy to discover gaps.
• Green cars usually move in pairs; you need to wait for both to pass.
• Large trucks occupy many lanes; you can't squeeze between them.
• Trains have a bell to signal; don't jump until you hear it.

Only jump onto logs floating in the same direction you want to go

Crossing train tracks or vehicles is difficult. But crossing a river is even harder.

Underwater, there are no vehicles. Instead, there are floating logs and slow-moving turtles. You have to jump onto them to cross the river. But there's one important thing:

Only jump onto logs that are floating in the same direction as your movement.

• A log floating in the same direction → propels you forward, safely.
• A log floating in the opposite direction pulls you backwards, making you more likely to fall.
• Turtles are slow but can dive → don't stand on a turtle's back for too long.

Always look far ahead to choose the next log.

Always move forward

Crossy Road doesn't allow you to stand still. Standing still might sound safe, but it's not.

Why you shouldn't stop for too long:

• The screen automatically scrolls up every second.
• If you stand still for too long, the eagle will swoop down and catch you.
• There's no way to escape the eagle. Once caught, the game is over.

You don't need to jump every second. You can pause once or twice. But don't pause for too long. Maintain a steady, moderate pace.

Chicken Controls

The controls in Crossy Road are incredibly simple. But this simplicity is also a trap.

• Tap or click → jump forward one step.
• Swipe left → move to the left lane.
• Swipe right → move to the right lane.

Operating tips:

Tap the bottom half of the screen, not the middle or top half.

Tap in the wrong place → your finger blocks your view.

If you lose your view, you won't be able to see the oncoming car, which can lead to your end.
